Non-Compliance Isn't Just Risky.
It's Already Costing You.

The PEAL transition period ended 25 February 2026. Every product on your shelf with non-compliant labels is now a liability.

⚖️

Regulatory Fines

State and territory food authorities can issue infringement notices, improvement notices, and prosecution for non-compliance with the Food Standards Code.

🔄

Mandatory Recalls

Products with incorrect allergen labelling can trigger costly product recalls — damaging your reputation and bottom line simultaneously.

⚠️

Consumer Safety Liability

If someone has an allergic reaction due to incorrect labelling, you face personal injury claims and potential criminal liability. This is life and death.

📉

Lost Retail Contracts

Major retailers and distributors are auditing supplier compliance. Non-compliant labels mean lost shelf space and broken wholesale relationships.

Compliance Failures

This Wasn't Built by Consultants.
It Was Built on the Production Floor.

Most compliance resources are written by lawyers and food scientists who've never worked a 4am shift in a bakery. This kit is different.

With over 20 years running food businesses across Australia — from operating a pie factory on the Central Coast to placing skilled bakers in bakeries nationwide — I've lived the realities of food production, labelling, and compliance from the inside.

PEAL Compliant exists because I saw too many good food businesses struggling with PEAL — not because the rules are complicated, but because nobody was explaining them in plain language that production teams could actually act on.

QUESTIONS

Frequently Asked Questions

Straight answers to the questions we hear most.

PEAL (Plain English Allergen Labelling) is Australian legislation requiring all food allergens to be declared in simple, bold English terms on packaged food labels. It covers 11 mandatory allergens including wheat, milk, egg, peanut, tree nuts, fish, crustacea, molluscs, sesame, soy, and lupin. The final compliance deadline was 25 February 2026 — meaning all products on shelves must now have PEAL-compliant labels.
It's not too late to fix your labels, but it is urgent. Products on shelves right now with non-compliant labels are in breach of the Food Standards Code. The sooner you act, the lower your risk. Our DIY kit can have you audit-ready within a day.
Yes. If you sell any pre-packaged food (including items you package on-site for retail), PEAL labelling requirements apply. Even for non-packaged food, you're required to provide allergen information to consumers on request using the correct PEAL plain English names. Our kit includes food service templates specifically for this.
Tier 1 (DIY Kit - $197): All the tools, templates, and knowledge to audit and fix your labels yourself. Best for single-site businesses with up to 15 products.

Tier 2 (Done-With-You - $597): We review your actual labels, provide a personalised compliance report, and guide you through fixes on a strategy call. Best for businesses with 10-30 products that want expert validation.

Tier 3 (Done-For-You - from $2,497): We handle everything — label rewrites, redesigns, supplier verification, and sign-off documentation. Best for businesses with large product ranges, complex supply chains, or those who just want it handled. Pricing scales by SKU count.
With Tier 1, most businesses can complete a full label audit within 1-2 days. Tier 2 delivers your personalised compliance report within 5 business days. Tier 3 timelines depend on the size of your product range — typically 2-4 weeks for full label redesign and verification.
Tiers 1, 2, and 3 are one-time payments (payment plans available for Tier 2 and 3). The Tier 1 DIY Kit is licensed per business site — if you operate multiple locations, each site needs its own licence. We also offer volume discounts for multi-site businesses. Tier 3 includes an optional ongoing retainer ($297/month) for continuous compliance monitoring, and we're launching a Compliance Subscription from $29/month for ongoing regulatory support across all tiers.
Not sure if your labels are compliant? Send us a photo of any one product label and we'll review it against every PEAL requirement within 24 hours. You'll get a short compliance report telling you exactly what passes, what fails, and what to fix. It's the fastest way to know where you stand — and the $49 is credited towards any tier you purchase afterwards.
The Tier 1 DIY Kit is licensed per business site because templates are personalised to your location and ABN. If you operate 3 bakery locations, you need 3 licences. We offer volume pricing for multi-site businesses — contact us for a custom quote. Tier 2 and 3 services are scoped to your total product range regardless of how many sites you operate.
Yes. Australian Food Ministers made Health Star Ratings (HSR) mandatory in February 2026. FSANZ has 12-18 months to finalise the standard, meaning label changes for HSR are coming by mid-2027. If you're updating labels for PEAL now, it's smart to plan for HSR at the same time. Our upcoming Compliance Subscription will cover HSR readiness as soon as the standard is finalised — purchase any tier now and you'll get priority access.
Yes. Tier 2 can be split into 3 monthly payments of $199. Tier 3 can be split into 3 monthly payments of $849. Work begins immediately upon first payment. Tier 1 is a single payment of $197 with instant access.
